Collier County Board of County Commissioners is holding a meeting for Hurricane Milton.

The Board’s agenda included an update on the status of Hurricane Milton and its potential impacts on Collier County and Determination of the necessity of declaring a state of emergency.

All residents in Collier County zones A and B, including mobile home residents and locations with a history of storm flooding, are recommended to evacuate on a voluntary precautionary basis, effective immediately.

According to the city, if you have a plan and resources to get to an inland destination, now is the time to review your checklist, mobilize and have ample time to get to your destination.

This includes the City of Marco, Everglades City, Goodland, Chokoloskee and the City of Naples.

The emergency operations center is in full activation Tuesday at 6 a.m. and will be in 24-hour operations.

Mayor Teresa Heitmann will sign a proclamation declaring a Local State of Emergency on Tuesday morning.

The meeting will be broadcast live and close, captioned on Collier Television and via colliercountyfl.gov.
