Cape Coral Mayor John Gunther informed residents of the current updates for Milton and how the city plans to respond to potential impacts. During a news conference Tuesday, the city manager noted that a local state of emergency will go into effect at 7 p.m. Tuesday. This doesn’t affect residents directly, but it does open up emergency resources and funding for the city. Gunther urged residents to stay safe and be prepared. “Everyone needs to be in their shelter-in-place today,” Gunther said. “Do not plan on driving tomorrow on roadways.” Click here for the list of shelters.
