Island Water Association personnel will be evacuating ahead of Hurricane Milton, so the city is preparing to temporarily shut down the treatment plant and secure their facilities during the evacuation period. Since the water system cannot be actively monitored during the storm, the boil water advisory will be in effect from 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue until IWA employees can return and verify the system’s sanitary condition.
