The Edison and Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers will remain closed Friday due to the impacts of Hurricane Milton, including area power outages.

The site originally announced it would close on October 7 with plans to reopen Oct. 11, weather permitting.

“We are cleaning up debris and plan to re-open very soon,” said Lisa Wilson, marketing and public relations director. “Once we know when we’ll be able to open, we’ll post information on our social media channels and on our website.”

The Orchid Sale and Symposium that had been scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled too.

The event is now set for April 12-13 and will be combined with the springtime Grow Fort Myers event.

The Edison and Ford Winter Estates has yet to provide a timeline for reopening, but the museum did advise people to check their website at EdisonFord.org or social media for updates.
