President Biden approved a Major Disaster Declaration for Florida following the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Milton.

This declaration will provide federal disaster assistance to supplement local recovery efforts in the hardest-hit areas.

The President’s approval opens up federal funding for individuals and communities affected by the hurricane in 35 counties, including Charlotte, Collier, Lee, Hendry, DeSoto and Glades.

The aid is aimed at helping residents and business owners recover from property damage and losses.

Eligible individuals can access temporary housing and home repair grants, low-cost loans for uninsured property losses, and additional programs to support recovery efforts.

For further details on how individuals and businesses can apply for disaster assistance, information will be made available through federal and state emergency management channels in the coming days.
