Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis awarded $400,000 to support Florida’s first responders after Hurricane Milton.

In a news conference in Tampa Tuesday afternoon, he announced that the money would be divided among four organizations, each receiving $100,000.

The organizations involved are The Florida Firefighter’s Charity Fund, the Florida PBA Heart Fund, the Florida Sheriff’s Association Fund and the Florida State Lodge FOP Memorial Foundation.

“Those organizations will be able to use that money for whatever they need to, to help folks in need,” DeSantis said. “Maybe they have a police officer who lost a home, who has damage, who needs some help, who lost a vehicle.”
