The lawsuit comes after messages from a FEMA employee surfaced instructing workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump” when responding to areas affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton. The employee, Marn’i Washington, is one of the defendants named in the case, as well as FEMA’s 12th Administrator Deanne Criswell.
