The Lee County School District has lifted its precautionary lockdowns on two Fort Myers schools early Tuesday morning.

The Lee County School District confirmed that Fort Myers High School and Edison Park Elementary were on precautionary lockdowns Tuesday morning but have since returned to regularly scheduled classes.

The Fort Myers Police Department said they still have units on the scene out of precaution due to a VPN threat.

FMPD conducted a sweep of the school to ensure the safety of staff and students and deemed there was no threat.

Edison Park was technically on a “lock-in” out of an abundance of caution; however, the focus was FMHS.
