A man is behind bars accused of trying to steal another man’s car after he had asked the victim for a ride. Fort Myers police say Rosmel Pulgar asked for a ride to a gas station on Ortiz Avenue on Wednesday. The victim offered to give the ride, just hoping to help, said police. Once the car made it to the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Marsh Avenue, police said Pulgar started to hit the victim. They both got out of the car, where Pulgar punched the victim in the face. Pulgar had also tried to hop in the driver’s seat and take off, but the victim nabbed the keys from the ignition. Police found Pulgar walking nearby and took him to jail.
