Charlotte County deputies have arrested two teenagers for making separate threats to conduct school shootings.

On Wednesday, a Charlotte High School student reported a Snapchat group chat message from a 17-year-old planning a school shooting.

The student’s mother contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The teen was arrested for sending written threats and has been banned from all Charlotte County Schools.

On Tuesday, the Southwest Florida FBI Taskforce alerted local authorities about a threat from a Port Charlotte High School student.

Jayden Jerome Fain, 18, sent text messages to a Pennsylvania student, threatening a school shooting and advising her to stay home for safety.

After the Pennsylvania student reported the threats, Fain was arrested and charged with sending written threats.

Fain has bonded out, while the 17-year-old has been taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
