Stanley Maliszewski, a dedicated volunteer for the Cape Coral Police Department for over 20 years, has passed away.

Maliszewski joined the police volunteer unit in 2003. He supported officers by assisting in the enforcement of non-moving violations, directing traffic, conducting house checks, and performing other duties to keep the community safe.

His passion and enthusiasm for his volunteer work made him stand out in the department.

“He wanted to be in the police volunteer unit with the Marines, and so he went out. He did that for a while,” said Officer Simmonds, the Cape Coral Police Department public information officer.

“There’s a lot of different things that he did that he was really passionate about helping with. Rose through the ranks within the police volunteer unit, and that’s just one of those things. It’s so sad to see him go after over 20 years of really dedicated service,” said Simmonds.

Simmonds mentioned that everyone in the department loved Maliszewski, and his death is a significant loss.
