Report: Charlotte commissioners’ behavior issues at Rays spring training

Published:

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- WINK News has obtained a new report that details complaints about some county commissioners’ behavior at Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training games.

The issues go back to 2012, and while most have been addressed, the Rays and stadium staff just filed another complaint with the county this season.

According to the documents, the complaints center around two commissioners- Christopher Constance and Stephen Deutsch.

The Rays say in March of this year, Commissioner Deutsch sped past the entry gate and through the parking lot, knocking over cones and causing players to jump out of the way. They say he parked in a restricted area and did not sign in properly in the stadium.

Stadium staff also says in 2012, he parked at the clubhouse lot and tried to bring his son into the locker room, wearing Red Sox gear.

The complaints also say Commissioner Constance was on the field without proper credentials before a game in 2013 and used the media entrance to get into the stadium in 2014.
