Photo by WINK News. Lee County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims of a fatal golf cart crash in Estero Monday. According to LCSO, Joseph Heller, 83, was driving northbound in the southbound travel lane in a club golf cart with his wife, Betty Heller, 81. A driver of a Ford F-150 was heading south on Via Lungomare Circle in Estero, when the Ford crashed into the golf cart head-on, throwing Joseph from the golf cart. MORE: 2 injured after truck hits golf cart inside Estero gated community Joseph sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Betty became entrapped underneath the Ford and the golf cart. She also suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
