NAPLES, Fla.- WINK News has continuing coverage of the fight over noise at the Naples Airport.  On Thursday, people packed a meeting, sounding off about planes flying too low and being too loud.

“Essentially it’s an assault on the quality of life of the community,” said Alan Parker with the Naples Airport Watch group.

“If they would stay up at a higher altitude it would be safer if one engine fails,” said Naples homeowner, Jan Miller.

However, Naples Airport Authority Commissioners don’t necessarily agree with all of the homeowners’ points.

Still, they say they’re trying to make changes to reduce noise pollution. One includes hiring a new liaison who will work with the community.

“People are really creative and they have some great ideas so we want to get that going,” said Airport Authority Commissioner, Donna Messer

A noise compatibility committee is holding a meeting on January 29th.  The public is invited to attend.
