3rd ranked Mariner beats 5th ranked Gibbs as Hunter goes over 2,000 points

Mariner senior Rodney Hunter scored 27 points to lead Mariner over Gibbs (St. Petersburg), 68-58 at Mariner High School. The Columbia commit went over 2,000 career points in the process. “When I look back on it I feel like it will be greater then it is right now. Right now I’m thinking about winning a state championship, when I look back I’ll have done both” said Hunter who’s Triton’s improved to 14-3.

Mariner is the third ranked team in Class 5A, Gibbs is the fifth ranked team. Mariner is two games in to a stretch of seven games in 12 days.
