MIAMI (AP) – More charges have been filed against two Pakistani-born brothers charged in Florida with plotting a terror attack, including attempted murder counts for allegedly attacking U.S. marshals while being escorted.

A new indictment filed Thursday also adds new terrorism material support and material support conspiracy charges against 32-year-old Sheheryar Alam Qazi and 22-year-old Raees Alam Qazi.

They previously faced terror-related charges stemming from an alleged plot to blow up New York City landmarks in retaliation for U.S. drone attacks overseas. The new counts could add decades to their potential prison sentences if convicted.

Prosecutors say the brothers, shouting “God is great” in Arabic, attacked the U.S. marshals while being escorted in the Miami courthouse complex in April. The extent of their injuries was not released.

The brothers previously pleaded not guilty.
