MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- WINK News is learning more about a prostitution sting that led to the arrest and firing of a South Florida police chief.

Miami Gardens Police Chief Stephen Johnson lost his job shortly after he was arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitution.

Now, authorities have released video of the sting.

In the video, you can see Johnson walk inside room 423. He’s greeted by a woman he thinks is a prostitute, but the two women were undercover detectives.

Reports say Johnson responded to an online ad for a two-girl special.

Johnson lays in bed as one of the ladies says she’s going to change. Seconds later, cops show up.

Johnson with hands behind his back is escorted out.

Hours later, after leaving jail, the former chief says his act was totally out of character and he result of a stressful week at work.

“It was a bad decision and I can’t explain why because I can’t explain that feeling that came over in dealing with the situations that I had to deal with today,” said Johnson.

Earlier in the week, he had to deal with the family of Lavall Hall, a mentally ill man his officers shot.

That same day, a 10-year-old girl was hit by an unmarked car one of his officers was driving.

Johnson says the stress of the job overwhelmed him and apologized to the community.
