
HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. – The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office released an alert around 6 p.m. Sunday saying several crews were working a brush fire in Pioneer Plantation.
The fire is in the area of Vero and Pioneer 5th Street. By 10 p.m officials told WINK News 150 acres was burned and crews had the fire 100-percent contained. Crews also said an abandoned structure was destroyed in the fire.
Pioneer Fire Department, LaBelle, Montura and Clewiston fire departments are all working to contain the fire.
