Victim fends off North Fort Myers robbers with mace

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Authorities are searching for three men who tried to rob a resident, then shot him in the foot when met with a can of mace.

The victim was at Par Services around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, when the three men approached him in an aggressive manner and attempted to rob him.

Police say the victim immediately pulled out a can of mace, after which one of the men shot the victim in the foot. All three men then piled into a brown minivan and left the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was able to provide a description of the man who shot him, and now detectives are hoping the public can help identify him.
