LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Fish and Wildlife crews have removed an alligator that was stuck beneath a car on U.S. 41 and Gladiolus Drive.

Pictures sent to WINK News by several viewers show an alligator underneath a blue sedan. Another picture sent by Robert Anderson show trappers with FWC removing the alligator from the road. In the background, you can see a Lee County sheriff’s deputy directing traffic while wildlife crews remove the alligator from the road.

Anderson said he and his mom were on the way to the bookstore when they spotted the gator in the road. He said dozens of people pulled over to take pictures. Anderson, who was visiting from Beverly Hills, said he was excited to show his friends his close encounter.

WINK News contacted FWC, but they said they could not provide us with any information on where the gator was being taken to until tomorrow. Trust WINK News to update you when we get more information from FWC.
