SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) – Two men were arrested in California on suspicion of conspiring to provide material support to a terrorism organization, the FBI said Friday.

Nader Elhuzayel, 24, was taken into custody at Los Angeles International Airport and Muhanad Badawi, 24, was arrested in Anaheim late Thursday, said Laura Eimiller, a spokeswoman for the FBI.

The men were expected to be charged Friday in federal court in Santa Ana in the probe conducted by a joint terrorism task force made up of federal and local authorities.

Eimiller declined to give further details about the allegations.

Salem Elhuzayel, Elhuzayel’s father, told the Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/1ITCN9B ) that he had dropped off his son at the airport for an Israel-bound flight so he could visit Palestinian aunts and cousins.

“I think they’re looking for a victim,” he said. “He’s an innocent human being.”

Salem Elhuzayel said FBI and SWAT officials searched the family’s Anaheim motel room after they returned from the airport.

Badawi’s sister declined to comment on the allegations.
