Stolen van located, suspect still missing in Fort Myers carjacking

FORT MYERS, Fla.-  Police say they found the van involved in a violent carjacking.

Monday around 5:20 a.m., authorities say a man took a vehicle by force at the 7-Eleven located on the 2500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The Ford Econoline van has now been located but police are still searching for the suspect.

The man is described as 35 to 45 years old, approximately 5’4″ to 5’6″, 145 to 155 pounds, wearing a faded black shirt and black shorts. The suspect wore a white knit cap and had medium length, thick dreadlocks. The victim also said the suspect had patchy facial hair and a possible birth mark or tattoo under his left eye.

Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
