Deputies arrest man in North Fort Myers shooting

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Deputies have arrested a suspect involved in a shooting Thursday morning.

Felix Halveston, 41, was identified as the victim in the shooting that happened around 7:45 a.m. on Ebson Drive.

Deputies obtained a description of the suspect and then searched the area. Approximately an hour later, deputies received a call in reference to a suspicious person running through a gated community nearby that matched the description of the suspect.

Deputies located and detained 21-year-old Dallas Wooten. Officials say he was positively identified by the witness and taken into custody.

Deputies also located 2.6 grams of cocaine on Wooten.

Wooten is facing multiple charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and cocaine possession.

Halveston remains in stable condition.
