FMPD searching for Subway robber

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Police have released new surveillance pictures from an armed robbery at a Subway.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Fort Myers Police Department responded to the Subway restaurant located at 2847 Cleveland Avenue.

Police say the suspect entered the restaurant and ordered a sandwich. While the employee was preparing the sandwich, the suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money.

The employee handed over cash to the suspect who left the restaurant heading east.

The suspect was described as black male in his 30s with a stocky build and facial hair. He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing dark shirt and pants. He also had medium length dreadlocks that were pulled back and under a large khaki hat.
