
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) – Police say a South Florida man trying to teach his 12-year-old daughter about gun safety accidentally shot her in the arm.
Davie Sgt. Pablo Castaneda tells local media that the father was showing his daughter the gun Sunday night when it discharged. She was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Castaneda says detectives are investigating the incident. Police have not revealed the father’s identity.
