TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Florida Gov. Rick Scott is Big Apple bound as part of his ongoing push to lure jobs to the Sunshine State.

Scott announced Thursday that he will head next week to New York City where he plans to meet with hedge funds, financial institutions and businesses about relocating to Florida. He also plans to speak to the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research.

During his inaugural address in January, Scott said he would visit several states in an effort to persuade businesses to relocate.

Since that time Scott has only targeted those states with Democratic governors. Last month he took a trip to Kentucky where he announced 40 jobs were relocating to Miramar.

Scott plans to include in his pitch to New York companies that Florida’s taxes are lower.
