FORT MYERS Fla. – It won’t be long before winter tourists make their way to Southwest Florida, which also means peak real estate season. But what would you do if you knew that this coming season would mark the peak of our market in terms of prices? Denny Grimes of Denny Grimes & Company joined us live in the studio to tackle this question and more. A report just came out from the National Association of Realtors stating that although pending home sales in the U.S. were down in Aug, they have risen year-to-year for 12 consecutive months. In addition, the median price across the U.S. is at the highest level ever and that prices have been rising over the last two years between 7 percent and 15 percent a year, which is well over the sustainable rate of 4 percent.
