FORT MYERS, Fla.- The first shopper seeking the best deals on Black Friday has already begun camping out outside of the Best Buy at Page Field Commons on South Cleveland Avenue. Derek Dearmond set up the tent two weeks before the big day, but he’s not just there for himself. Dearmond says the first TV he buys, he’ll donate to the Golisano Children’s Hospital in south Fort Myers. “We go out there and we just help out wherever we can. You know, I’m not a millionaire, I can’t give, you know, half the hospital, but if I’m out here, if I can spend 14 days of my life to help some kid, why shouldn’t everybody else do it?” When the manager of the Best Buy store heard about this Dearmond’s generosity, he agreed to also buy a TV and donate it to the children’s hospital.
