Farmers markets pop up in SWFL

SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. – Farmers Markets have rolled into Southwest Florida, offering shoppers a wide variety of fresh local produce.

Organizer say the advantage of shopping at their market rather than going to the grocery store helps keep money local.

“You come to a farmers market and you buy something from one of the vendors. Hopefully, on their way home, they’re going to stop by your restaurant maybe buy a car from your car dealership it really helps to stimulate the county,” said Jean Baer, one of the Market Managers.
