Suspected shooting in Pine Manor under investigation

PINE MANOR, Fla.- Fifth Avenue near Oak Drive was blocked off for hours in the Pine Manor area of Lee County while authorities investigated a suspected shooting on Thursday.

Neighbors say they first heard gunshots around 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

A newer, silver Nissan Maxima drove down Fifth Street and two men inside wearing hoodies began shooting at another car, witnesses said. It is unknown at this time if anyone was injured.

“A lot of stuff goes on around here, it’s not good with all these kids,” said one man who lives in the area. “There’s tons of kids out here right now and people driving by and you can’t be, you know, drive-by shooting with all these kids, it’s not good.”
