TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Rick Scott is tapping into the Florida Disaster Fund to provide $100,000 to Charlotee, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties after the areas were hit by severe storms in February. FEMA denied a request for help with debri removal, but Gov. Scott requested the declaration of a major disaster for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties on Wednesday. Charlotte County experienced two tornadoes on Feb. 23, which was less than a week after a tornado ripped through parts of the Florida Panhandle.
