EASTON, Pa. (AP) – A Pennsylvania man has been charged with killing a toddler who he had said choked to death on a hot dog.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said Thursday that 32-year-old Gary Foley Jr. fractured the girl’s skull on Feb. 24, 2015, at a mobile home in Walnutport. He is charged with homicide.

Foley had said the 17-month-old girl choked on a piece of hot dog. An autopsy detected the skull fracture.

Foley and the girl’s mother, 27-year-old Heather Surget, also face child endangerment charges. They were living with three other children in a mobile home that authorities called deplorable.

Court records do not list an attorney who could comment on the charges against Foley and Surget.
