COOPER CITY, Fla. (AP) – A man has been arrested after deputies say he and an unidentified partner used a distraction technique to steal a 92-year-old woman’s wallet inside a South Florida grocery store.

Broward Sheriff’s Office says in a statement that 55-year-old Albert Robinson was arrested Monday and faces charges of grand theft and identity theft.

Deputies say a surveillance video shows the suspects pretending to shop for gift cards at a Publix Feb. 28 when one of them approached the woman, asking her a question. That’s when deputies say Robinson went to the woman’s cart, unzipped her purse and took her wallet.

The suspects walked away with $40, credit cards and her driver’s license. They used her credit card to make a purchase at a Best Buy.

The second suspect remains at large.
