Pier Side Grill employee attacked during armed robbery

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- An armed man robbed the Pierside Grill, 1000 Estero Boulevard, just after midnight on Thursday.

An employee of the restaurant was tallying the night’s earnings when the suspect approached her from behind, officials said.

The man pulled the woman’s hair, then pushed her forward and demanded all the cash on hand. The suspect then hit the victim in the head, causing her to fall to the ground, before running away with the money, officials said.

The man is described as a white male of average height, last seen wearing a black knit cap or ski mask, green camouflage pants with tan loafer shoes without laces.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
