EVERGLADES, Fla. – One man is dead after a single-vehicle crash on US-41 on Thursday. Patrick McAdam, 56, of Marco Island was riding his motorcycle next to his friend when he lost control on a curve, according to Florida Highway Patrol. McAdam hit the guardrail and was ejected. His motorcycle continued without him for another 600 feet, also smashing into a guardrail. Witnesses saw the incident outside the entry of Corey’s Airboat Tours and tried to help. The road was partially blocked while FHP investigated. McAdam was a retired officer from the New England area.
