FORT MYERS, Fla. — More heat, humidity and thunderstorms are on the way Thursday for Southwest Florida. The day will feature a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will range from the upper 80s at the coast to the lower 90s inland. A quiet morning will give way to storms during the afternoon and evening, some of which could have heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds. The best chance of storms will be from 3-9 p.m. A 20% chance of development exists for a storm system in the Gulf of Mexico that could become Tropical Storm Colin in the next several days, the National Hurricane Center reports.
