Weekend robbery at NFM Family Dollar remains unsolved

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- A man who robbed the Family Dollar store, 50 Pine Island Road, late Saturday night is still on the loose, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said.

Just after 10 p.m., two store employees were counting the registers when the male suspect approached the women from behind and demanded they give him all the money from the safe.

One of the employees grabbed a store bag and placed the cash inside, authorities said. The suspect then told the employees to get on the ground and count to 100 before running out a rear door of the store and activating an alarm, officials said.

The suspect is described as wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. Surveillance images of the robbery are not available, authorities said.
