NAPLES, Fla. — Veteranarians expect a 6-month-old Florida panther to recover from the injuries it suffered when it was hit by a car in Collier County.

The female kitten is recovering from a bruised leg and injured hip bone at an animal speciality hospital. It’ll soon be transferred to a private conservation facility, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said, with the goal of an eventual release back into the wild.
