KEY LARGO, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say a 39-year-old Atlanta man died on a snorkeling trip in the Florida Keys.

Monroe County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Becky Herrin said in a news release that the man was in the water off Key Largo on Sunday afternoon when he started yelling for help.

Crewmembers from the Sundowner II jumped into the water and pulled him back onto the snorkeling boat.

Herrin says he was unresponsive and not breathing. The crew began CPR and took him to shore. He was taken to Mariner’s Hospital where he was declared dead.
