FORT MYERS, Fla. — A man accused of shooting at two Fort Myers police officers agreed to a 30-year prison sentence as part of a plea deal Monday, the state attorney’s office said.

Velton Corbett, 34, of 3225 C St, was taken into custody March 31 following a lengthy standoff at a nearby home. Neither officer was hurt.

Corbett was sentenced for attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
