FORT MYERS, Fla. One of three suspects in the shooting death of a popular Fort Myers DJ was questioned and released after turning himself into police, Fort Myers police spokesman Lt. Jay Rodriguez said.

Gerald Petit Homme, 21, of Lehigh Acres, is not currently facing any charges, according to Rodriguez.

Police didn’t say why Homme was released, when he turned himself in or how long he was held for questioning.

Rogerio Anjos, aka DJ Roger Brazil, was shot in the early morning hours of April 1 at Scarlett’s Cabaret, police said. He died shortly thereafter at Lee Memorial Hospital.

One of the other two suspects, Kahleel Perez, of Central Avenue in Fort Myers, was arrested April 4 and is facing a second-degree murder charge.

The homicide was the city’s first of 2017.
