Man attempts to lure Cape Coral teen into vehicle

CAPE CORAL, Fla. A man is accused of trying to lure a boy into his vehicle Wednesday afternoon, the Cape Coral Police Department said.

The incident took place at a bus stop at Santa Barbara Place and Southwest 13th Terrace.

The man was driving an older green vehicle, police said.

Police are increasing patrols in the area for the next two weeks.

Three similar incidents were reported in Cape Coral within in the last month. The first occurred March 28, when a suspect tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car near the intersection of N.E. Sixth Avenue and N.E. 27th Terrace. The second happened April 5, when a man followed a girl as she was walking in the 300 block of Northeast Pine Island Road. The third took place April 7, when a suspicious man tried to trick two boys into his car near the 4300 block of Southwest 26th Avenue by bribing them with a dollar coin.
