PUNTA GORDA, Fla. All lanes of Interstate 75 reopened around 9:07 p.m. Wednesday after a 23-acre brush fire shut down the road for several hours, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The blaze ignited near Laguna Drive and Chinquapin Drive and is 90 percent contained, Charlotte County fire officials said.

Residents should expect smoke in the area for the next couple of days, fire officials said.
