Credit: WINK News. NAPLES, Fla. Collier County issued a precautionary swim advisory Saturday for all public beaches, according to the Florida Department of Health in Collier. The advisory was issued due to potential effects on water quality related to Hurricane Irma, the health department said. Swimming is not recommended in areas that have not been tested since the storm. All local results are expected to be complete in seven days, the health department said. Beachgoers should assume that water contact may pose an increased risk of disease, particularly for immunocompromised individuals. Floodwater may contain fecal matter from sewage systems, agricultural and industrial waste and septic tanks, the health department said. Floodwaters can also mask debris, downed power lines and other hazards. For more information, click here.
