EAST NAPLES, Fla. O.J. Simpson, now a free man, could soon be a Southwest Florida resident.

Both attorney Malcolm LaVergne and friend Tom Scotto, of East Naples, agree Simpson will be coming to the Sunshine State.

But officials, like Attorney General Pam Bondi, aren’t embracing the idea. His arrival would endanger Floridians, Bondi wrote, and she argued the law prohibits him from coming.

LaVergne contends Simpson “can and will move to Florida,” as he wrote on Twitter.

Simpson’s friend Tom Scotto, of East Naples, extended an invitation to Simpson to join him in a new home in North Naples.

It’s unclear when Simpson will make his move, but Scotto confirmed it would be in the near future.
