BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. Lee County superintendent Greg Adkins was the topic of conversation Tuesday morning at a school board meeting. Melisa Giovanneli spoke out against Adkins Tuesday morning at a board meeting accusing him of being a poor leader and communicator. MORE: Dr. Greg Adkins new Lee County Schools Superintendent “A couple times I brought up things to him about important things and its resulted in a lawsuit and another complaint that should have been addressed earlier and followed through and I was given an answer that wasn’t sufficient,” Giovanneli said. Giovanneli distributed a three-page letter to other members detailing her concerns, but the rest of the six board members disagree. MORE: Lee schools superintendent calls for veto of education bill “He’s very transparent with what’s going on, so I feel like although no one is perfect, I think that he’s done a great job of taking the reigns of this district and moving us forward,” Lee County School board chairman Mary Fischer said.
