The northbound span of the Edison Bridge reopened early Friday morning after a more than four-hour closure.
Police declined to say why the bridge was closed, though dense fog cut visibilities to a quarter mile or less throughout Southwest Florida. The roadway was blocked from about 2 a.m. to shortly before 6:30 a.m.
The bridge covers Business 41 over the Caloosahatchee River from Fort Myers to North Fort Myers.
