FDLE says no criminal investigation into Sheriff Marceno in paternity suit

There will be no criminal investigation into the Lee County Sheriff over allegations he threatened the mother of his unborn child.

Deanna Williams claims Sheriff Carmine Marceno threatened her if she wouldn’t have an abortion.

After the suit was filed in November, we asked Williams if Marceno flat-out asked her to have an abortion. She said, “He did. He told me there was no other option. There was no other moral choice.”

That’s when Williams decided to sue, asking for sole custody and child support in hopes to raise the child with some privacy.

Williams said, “The only problem was.. The only option he would speak about.. Was abortion..”

The sheriff has said he wants shared custody if a DNA test proves that the child is his.

Again, FDLE says it didn’t find sufficient evidence to launch a criminal investigation based on Williams’ complaint.
