Fun without limitations at the Estero Rec Center for children with special needs

Published: Updated:

The scene inside the Estero Rec Center brought tears of joy to mothers of children with special needs.

Estero mom Ashley Carlson is eager to organize opportunities for children with different abilities, creating a community for families like hers.

Ashley loves being ‘mom’ to these two boys. Miles requires extra support sometimes because cerebral palsy, a developmental disorder, affects his movements.

So, Ashley planned and paid for an ‘egg-stra special division’ of the easter egg hunt at the Estero Rec Center.

By drilling holes in the plastic eggs and attaching helium balloons, children with special needs could be a part of the fun.

Watch the full story above and see how Ashley is inspiring people and uniting a community.
