Credit: Google Maps via WINK News. One person died and four others were seriously injured in a crash on State Road 80, in LaBelle on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pick-up truck with 5 total people inside was traveling eastbound on SR-80 in heavy rain when the driver lost control. The truck traveled off the roadway into the median and overturned. A 53-year-old woman from LaBelle was ejected from the truck into the westbound traffic lanes. She were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man from LaBelle was seriously injured in the crash. Three other passengers in the truck, a 41-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man, and a 10-year-old boy were also seriously injured in the crash. The crash investigation is ongoing to determine if alcohol was involved.
